LANGSTONE TECHNOLOGY PARK MANAGEMENT COMPANY LEAD COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER PROJECT

Fasset, the facilities management company which operates leading Havant business park, Langstsone Technology Park, was delighted to lead a team of volunteers (including staff and business partner representatives) on a community volunteering project for the young persons’ charity, Motiv8, on Friday 15 May which was ‘Give and Gain’ Day 2015.

The Fasset team-led initiative aimed to refurbish the local youth centre in Wecock Farm as their 2015 ‘Give & Gain’ project.  They assembled a team of tradesmen and employees who together gave over 120 hours to completely refurbish, refurnish and refit the youth centre. The team included volunteers from Fasset Ltd, D & G Decorators and Brenmar; with support from Aramark, Brewers, Veolia, and Progession Signs; as well as volunteers and staff from Motiv8.

Motiv8 is an independent, Hampshire-based charity, whose goal is to improve the life chances of young people by reducing the risk of offending, anti-social behaviour and disengagement from learning and employment. The Acorn Centre is used daily for youth clubs, drop-in sessions, workshops; and is office hub for the charity team.

Sandie Davis, Havant Service Manager Motiv8 said: “We benefit so much from our relationship with Fasset, they have undertaken two massive projects for us now and the improvements to our venues means we can offer young people a fantastic place to meet and access our services. The amount of time and planning Claire and the team put in was amazing and the work day was 10 hours of hard work by a range of teams and volunteers. So much was achieved in one day and we just want to say a massive thank you to all involved for our fab new look centre.”
