Global adventurer to speak at LTP

07 June 2016

Author: News

Businesses at Langstone Technology Park near Portsmouth will have priority access to a talk given by global adventurer James Ketchell on June 8. Business and property solutions provider Fasset, one of the companies based at Langstone, is to host a Power of Persistence breakfast networking event from 8am until 10am with Ketchell as the guest speaker.

In 2007, Ketchell was recovering from a serious motorcycle accident that left him with broken legs and a severely broken and dislocated ankle. Doctors believed he would struggle to walk normally again.

However, having worked hard on his recovery, Ketchell became the first and only person to have completed ‘The Ultimate Triathlon’, having rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, successfully summited Mount Everest and cycled 18,000 miles around the world.

In addition to these incredible feats, Ketchell has become a powerful motivational speaker and a Scouting ambassador. He has also raised tens of thousands of pounds for his chosen charities as he climbed, rowed, and cycled his way around the world.

At the Power of Persistence breakfast, Ketchell will speak about a range of challenges including the Round Britain Row Challenge: his single-handed attempt to row around Great Britain, through which he raises funds for the children’s charity, Over The Wall.

James will be passing on his tips about overcoming adverse conditions, perseverance and positive thinking, and how people can use these skills within the business world to achieve their goals.
