Langstone Company Makes More Than a Token Gesture

13 January 2015

National property and facilities management company, Fasset Ltd invited employees based at Havant’s Langstone Technology Park to decide where their £500 charitable donation would go.

As part of the customer survey feedback initiative undertaken at the business park, all employees who took part were given a ‘token’ and were able to select which of the two charities being supported would receive their percentage contribution:

Portsmouth QA Hospital Neo-Natal Care Unit – providing medical intensive, high and special care to pre-term and sick term babies born in the area.

Two Saints – offering support and resettlement services to homeless and those at risk of being homeless;

The two charities were selected by the Business Excellence team and continue the ‘token donation’ initiative that was introduced in 2014 and has seen a number of local charities receive donations.

  The response to the customer survey was excellent with 96% of respondents agreeing that Langstone was a good place to grow their business. The £500 was split with £309 going to QA and the remainder to Two Saints; and presentations were made just before Christmas.

Victoria Greenshields, Fundraising Manager at Portsmouth Hospitals Charity: “Thank you for this generous donation to NICU. Supporting this unit helps us provide life-saving care to children and hope to their families”.

Gary Medlow, Managing Director, Fasset Ltd: “It was great to offer some support to two extremely worthy local causes both of which do amazing work for people in our communities. I hope that our token donation initiative at Langstone has and will continue to inspire some of the employees based on site to support fundraising and make a difference”.
