Hard to believe that it is already December, but there is no denying that the Christmas countdown has begun.

So time once more to get the decorations out of storage and light up Langstone with some Christmas cheer. All told we have five trees (for the main reception areas) to dust off and decorate – and for the 20ft’er for the restaurant courtyard this is no mean feat. Lights need to be untangled, bulbs checked, baubles shined and tinsel draped! But once they are all up, it feels a whole lot more festive.

The restaurant festivities kick off next week with their annual Christmas market event – which is great if you are strapped for time or just can’t stand the endless Christmas tunes played non-stop in the shops. The following week you can pull a cracker (!) and enjoy turkey with all of the trimmings…well it is Christmas!

Snow at LTPIt is also the season where many of us enjoy a festive tipple, so remember you can always leave your car overnight on site - just let Security know.

But December for us here at Langstone, is more than just decorations; it’s about ensuring that we have made adequate preparations for the bad weather, as the mild spell is set to break.

Remember this time last year? We had the ‘big freeze’ and Portsmouth awoke to snow! In fact on December 7th 2011-12-01we awoke to a thick snowfall and have photos of our onsite team out with shovels… they were absolute stars!

Never fear though, we have agreements in place with a national contractor who is on weather-watch and will grit access roads and pathways…so if you can get in, there is a warm welcome waiting for you!
