Langstone Technology Park is celebrating filling nearly 56,000 sq ft (5,202 sq m) of business space over 12 months despite the most challenging economic conditions in a generation.

Langstone Technology Park, near Portsmouth, has now welcomed nine new companies, taking the total number of businesses on site to 35 and employing more than 3,000 people and generating work for 1,000 suppliers.

The latest firms to move into the 40-acre site in Havant include ITS, an expert in payment card transaction software and services, and recruitment agencies CMA and Oxbridge Answers.

Langstone Technology Park’s Business Suites - launched earlier this year to provide one-to-28 workstation accommodation - have also proved successful, with nearly three-quarters let.

A high retention rate has also seen anchor tenants such as Jobsite, the internet superbrand, sign up to a further 10 years due to location, service satisfaction and price competitiveness.

The Park has 649,601 sq ft (60,350 sq m) of workspace which can be configured to deliver flexible Grade A property solutions for office, call-centre, research and development, technology, data centre and manufacturing requirements

Gary Medlow, the Managing Director of Fasset, which runs and manages the Park with a team of 90 people, said: “We’re proud to be celebrating an economic success story in these challenging times, with nearly 56,000 sq ft alone let over the past 12 months, which is no mean feat when you consider there is so much vacant workspace elsewhere in Hampshire.

“We’re providing customers with the perfect business environment in which they are freed up to concentrate on what they do best while we take away all the non-business related hassle from them.

“What tenants tell us is that the Park has a soul, that there is a buzz, a vibrancy, which you don’t get at other business parks.

“Companies also tell us that the well-presented facilities are fantastic, such as the centralised restaurant, gym, conference hall, meeting rooms and that there are great opportunities to network. There is also going to be a crèche”

Mr Medlow added: “Langstone Technology Park is about the services we provide and the way we provide them, which is why discerning companies such as ITS, CMA and Oxbridge Answers came to us instead of elsewhere in a highly competitive market.

“Their arrival stands testament to the Park’s excellence as a thriving business hub without equal. What we do here is different, unique, and it doesn’t happen elsewhere.

“We never stop achieving here – we have developed a programme for the customer services delivery team, which involves on-the-job training and off-the-job vocational qualifications. This ensures that we are consistent in providing excellent services. We recognise that this is a never-ending journey and we are continuously striving to achieve more.

“We at Fasset are incredibly proud of what has been achieved to date. The Park is a great place to work, with competitive occupancy and highly flexible leasing packages, with second-to-none facilities.”

He adds: “We recently held an art exhibition, showcasing the A Level work of local college students, and it was a prime example of the Park being part of the community.”

ITS, CMA and Oxbridge Answers have moved into 4,711 sq ft (437 sq m), 1,000 sq ft (93 sq m) and 671 sq ft (62 sq m) offices respectively at Building 6000.

ITS, which employs nearly 40 people, has just relocated from an office nearly three miles away in Emsworth. The independent data handler, which is owned by American Express, processes credit and debit card transactions for all the major UK banks.

Financial recruitment group CMA, which also has offices in Southampton, Basingstoke and Bournemouth, arrived from a nearby office in New Lane, with Langstone Technology Park serving as its 10-strong Portsmouth office.

IT recruitment consultancy Oxbridge Answers, led by director Dan Cassar, is a specialist IT recruitment company with a track record of successfully building business partnerships with leading organisations throughout Hampshire, the Thames Valley and London for all IT-related positions.

The firm provides the “highest calibre of people for companies looking for competitive advantage through hiring the best people”. Oxbridge Answers anticipates employing 10 people within the next few weeks as part of an expansion strategy.

Occupiers at Langstone Technology Park include leading-edge companies such as electronics brand Hitachi, telecoms giant AT&T and Xyratex, the NASDAQ-listed data storage systems specialist, as well as recent arrival Kinetics, which provides property solutions to nearly 250,000 social housing homes throughout the UK.

All occupants have access to meeting rooms, parking, restaurant and gym facilities, with flexible leases and terms.
