Employees at Langstone Technology Park were give the opportunity to have their bike security tagged by the Hampshire Police for free as part of the initiatives supporting National Bike Week.
Yesterday employees at Langstone Technology Park were give the opportunity to have their bike security tagged by the Hampshire Police for free. As part of the events supporting National Bike Week, Langstone Technology Park arranged for the Community Support Team to come onsite - and 40 employees came along to take part. The tagging system is postcode linked to easily identify stolen bikes; and is also a deterrant tp thieves.
This week Langstone has seen a 40% increase in cyclists to the park, many of whom have enjoyed their free healthy breakfast.
Emma Bray at Langstone Technology Park has been co-ordinating the Bike Week events and comments: “At Langstone Technology Park we are always looking for innovative ways to promote healthier lifestyles and positive environmental benefits. Bike Week is the ideal vehicle for this and linking up with the police in this way has no doubt encouraged more people to give cycling a try today. The Community Police have been very supportive and were only to keen to come onsite today – I hope that we can offer this service again for anyone who could not make it.”
