Award Winning National Food Service Company Gets Back To Its Roots At Langstone Technology Park

Langstone Technology Park (LTP) was the venue for the inaugural ARAMARK Southern Food First Forum on Tuesday 4th October and TV celebrity chef Brian Turner was one of the guests.
 


ARAMARK has successfully been the food service partner at the premier Business and Technology Park, home to over 3,500 employees, for 5 years. Providing innovative catering, refreshment and hospitality solutions, the site boasts a 600-seat restaurant, Starbucks Café concession, shop with deli-style sandwiches/salads, fresh salad bar and range of healthy food choices. Regular food events such as ‘British Food Fortnight’ and ‘School Dinners’ make it highly successful, serving freshly prepared food to over 2,000 people every day.

The Food Forum was the ideal opportunity for the ARAMARK Southern Regional and Site Managers to go back to their roots focus on food and exchange ideas about making what they do even better. As part of the event, the ARAMARK Managers were set a ‘Ready Steady Cook’ style cooking challenge. Each team was given a mystery food bag and had use of the restaurant kitchen facilities to devise, cook and present an exciting and delicious dish. The judging panel was led by TV Chef Brian Turner who was looking for some creative flair along with great taste.

Other guest speakers included Chef Doug Bradley who is heading up the London Olympic cooking team and was talking about the challenge of creating innovative, nutritious and multi-cultural catering on such a large scale. He also led the delegate ideas exchange which threw up all kinds of challenges and opportunities for the coming months back in the kitchens.

ARAMARK Manager at Langstone Technology Park (LTP), Angela Wyer was absolutely delighted that her venue has been selected to host such a prestigious event: “I am really proud of my team and the service we provide at Langstone. It’s great to step back and get back to what initially inspired me to have a career in catering, great food and fresh ideas. ARAMARK is committed to food innovation and this Forum was an excellent opportunity to learn and share as well as have some fun!”

Gary Medlow, Managing Director of Fasset Ltd, the company that operate LTP was also part of the judging team: “The ARAMARK team at Langstone are not just good, they are exceptional. We have worked with Angela to deliver a range of services that are hard to beat. The Starbucks café serves over 900 cups a day, the food is creative; and we have a raft of plans for future enhancements to the catering facility. I was delighted to be asked to be part of this event, it was great to meet Brian and judge the dishes created by experienced caterers – delicious!”
