Havant Sixth Form College’s Art & Design BTEC students are back at Langstone Technology Park on Thursday 12th January with an exciting exhibition of work from their current project, ‘Green’
This display will promote the idea of being eco-friendly in a visually stimulating way and is open to all 3,500 onsite employees based at the Business Park and selected VIP’s. The nature of the project requires students to complete a piece of public art which will be placed in a public setting.
The 13 featured student artists have used a variety of artistic mediums including sculpture, graphics, photography, illustration and fashion to creatively interpret the eco-themed subjects of energy efficiency, waste, recycling, nature and the environment.
Chris Cook, Head of Art & Design at Havant Sixth Form College, said “I am impressed with the quality and diversity of the work that the students have created. They have worked hard to produce art that communicates the exhibition’s theme to their audience. We are also very grateful to Langstone for it’s continued support of the College. We are looking forward to next week’s exhibition, as well as our Annual Art Exhibition held again at Langstone in July”.
Langstone Technology Park already hosts the students’ end of year exhibition and was delighted to extend this support for this project. Gary Medlow, Managing Director of Fasset, the managing agent at Langstone comments: “This topic is one that interests me greatly as we place a high importance to environmental issue and initiatives across the Park. The work on display is very thought provoking and shows the diverse and amazing talent we have in Havant. I hope people take the opportunity to view the pieces and well done to everyone involved.”
