On Friday, 24th February, the British Heart Foundation (BHF) volunteers and mascot celebrated the launch of a new partnership with Fasset Ltd, the national property and facilities management company anchored at Langstone Technology Park in Havant, along with their 3,500 employees on National Wear Red Day as part of National Heart Month.
The BHF and Fasset partnership will help to generate much needed stock for nation’s heart charities shops and participate i
n various fundraising activities over the course of the year, including the Round the Harbours bike race and summer event (to be announced).
The new ‘donation station’ comprising of a clothing and book bank, at Langstone Technology Site is now open to employees and the general public. Anyone is encouraged to bring their unwanted items to Langstone Technology Park. Items currently needed include: good quality clothing, shoes, accessories, CDs, DVDs, books, toys and bric-a-brac; and all monies raised from their sales will help the charity’s ground breaking work.
Martyn Randell, Customer Services Delivery Team Manager, Langstone Technology Park comments: “We are excited to be working with the BHF and to help encourage valuable donations through our site. With the addition of these new facilities, we’ll make it even easier for people to donate their unwanted goods to the BHF. We’ve been trialling this service since January and we’ve already collected 62 donation bags, equating to £500, which is fantastic!”
BHF Area Manager for Portsmouth, Preston Davies says: “Stock is the lifeblood of BHF Shops and we’re delighted to announce our new partnership with Fasset. Our Shops sell over 80,000 items a day so I’d like to encourage the local Portsmouth community to help us continue our lifesaving work by donating those unwanted items.”
