Jobsite Clicks With Langstone Technology Park

One of Britain’s most popular internet job sites has signed a new occupier deal at Fasset-run Langstone Technology Park.

Jobsite, a leading online recruitment site, committed to a new term of up to 10 years at the park, which is home to 18 companies employing more than 3,000 people.

The company, which displays thousands of new jobs every day and takes the hard work out of job hunting for people, renewed in the run up to its 10th anniversary at the park, which is run by regional technology parks operator Fasset.

Jobsite, main club sponsor of Premiership side Portsmouth and the brand at the heart of the award-winning TV adverts starring Hotel Babylon actor Max Beesley, has leased 15,000 sq ft (1,393 sq m) of managed office space.

Keith Potts, co-founder and CEO of Jobsite.co.uk, which has 160 staff at the park, said: “With our 10-year anniversary at Langstone Technology Park approaching and the lease up for renewal, we began to consider the option of moving to offices of our own.

“It was important for us to remain in the local area as we've built strong community relationships, especially through our sponsorship of Portsmouth Football Club.

“We looked at several other properties but it became clear that having our own premises meant forgoing some of the great facilities we've got at Langstone Technology Park.

“We asked for staff feedback and the overwhelming feeling was that they wanted to remain here.

“They like having an on-site gym, canteen, cash point and shop. They also like the extensive car park, which means all employees are guaranteed a space.

“The location is also great for us too as it provides an easy commute for our staff or visitors from Portsmouth, Southampton, Chichester, Brighton or even London.

“With so many positives we're pleased to have signed to stay at Langstone Technology Park.”

Gary Medlow, Fasset’s managing director, said: “Jobsite is a highly respected UK internet superbrand and we’re thrilled that it has committed to a new term.

“The fact that such a fantastic business is keen to remain here stands testament to the park’s corporate-grade services and central shared facilities, such as the restaurant, occupational health centre, convenience store and fitness centre.

“It is also great to hear the reasons from Jobsite’s staff about why they preferred to stay.”

He added: “Langstone Technology Park is widely acknowledged as one of the leading business parks on the South Coast, with 18 companies employing more than 3,000 people and generating jobs and prosperity through innovation and internal investment.”

Jobsite was founded 15 years ago as the UK's first multi-sector online recruitment service by the Potts family - Keith, Graham, Karen and Eric - at a time when the whole UK internet had just 40,000 users.
By 2001 the company was the first UK online recruitment site to attract more than a million visits from job-hunters a month.

Its famous slogan is “Our job is searching for your job”, and one of its many national adverts reads: “Drumming your fingers on your desk isn’t going to get you anywhere. Try your keyboard.”

Occupiers at 40-acre Langstone Technology Park in Havant include other leading-edge companies such as Hitachi and AT&T.
