Langstone Technology Park which offers flexible office space in the Portsmouth area, including its own leisure centre, is contributing to the legacy of the 2012 Olympics with a new ‘Gifted and Talented’ award made to local athletes to help support them in their training.

The first recipient of this award, made by the Activhealth Fitness Centre at Langstone Technology Park, is Portsmouth Northsea swimmer, John Molyneaux, who wins subsidised membership, personal training and physiotherapy.

This follows the ‘Summer of Sport’ initiative which ran across this South Coast business and technology Park for the 2012 Olympics, including television screens which were specially installed so staff could watch during their breaks. Sailing was one of the most popular, being held just along the South Coast from these rental offices in Havant.

Aramark the caterers at Langstone Technology Park also did their bit for London 2012 – catering for the ‘Athletes Village’ and sending one of their chefs from the site up there for the duration of the Olympics and Paralympics.

Langstone Technology Park has long recognised the benefits of healthy workplaces for organisations and individuals alike which can include: improved productivity, fewer insurance and worker compensation claims, reduced absenteeism and staff turnover, fewer accidents and improved staff morale. It is one of the few business and technology parks in the area to offer onsite leisure and fitness facilities to tenants of their rental offices on the South Coast.
