National facilities management company Fasset who run Langstone Technology Park has set employees based there a challenge in the fight against heart disease as part of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Shops’ Great British Bag-athon!
Fasset is aiming to fill a minimum of 100 bags, of unwanted items this month to support the Havant BHF Shop. These bags could raise as much as £820, helping the BHF continue its life-saving work in the local area.
Fasset became a BHF Retail Partner earlier this year and so far Langstone Technology Park has generated over £6,000 in donations and collections. Employees and local residents can drop their donations into one of the temporary donation points located in the main Reception areas, or the permanent donation station located towards the West entrance.
Local businesses can also take up their own Bag-athonChallenge! Anything from 5, 10, 20 or more bags will help the fight against heart disease and information/registration can be found on the BHF website (details below).
Julie Paffett, Manager for the BHF, says: “It’s fantastic to see local companies such as Fasset taking on the Great British Bag-athon Challenge! BHF Shops sell 90,000 items daily so donations from the local Havant community are vital. We’re always keen to receive lovely clothing, accessories, handbags, shoes, books, CD’s and DVD’s so get filling those bags now! Every bag you fill makes a real difference and is worth on average £20* to the Havant Shop”.
Martyn Randell from Fasset comments: “We have made donating easy and really hope that employees at Langstone rise to the challenge and help us reach our target. With so much raised already it proves that if everyone puts in a little effort we can make a real difference”.
Visit bhf.org.uk/bagathon to find out more and to sign up for the challenge or pop into the Shop today for further information and to donate.
For anyone taking on the challenge and filling lots of bags, the Havant Shop will can come and collect your items for free from your doorstep. Call 0844 334 1400 to book your free collection.
