We are delighted to announce that on Friday 24th February LTP will become an official ‘Retail Partner’ of The British Heart Foundation (BHF). The aim of this partnership is to generate donations of unwanted items for their network of stores, participate in various fundraising events at the site during 2012; and raise awareness of and involvement with the Charity.

Why BHF?
There are many reasons why this partnership is a great opportunity:

• LTP is already committed to promoting a healthy workplace with the onsite fitness centre, cycle facilities, outdoor fitness sessions, healthy eating options and occupational health services etc.
• LTP is one of the four main locations for the BHF Round the Harbours Bike Race – taking place on Sunday 10th June (call 0808 100 2109 / www.bhf.org.uk/roundtheharbours for more information)
• LTP is environmentally aware and promotes recycling where possible
• The nature of the partnership should not interfere with existing charity events or commitments that individual businesses or employees may be involved with.

Get That Friday Feeling…
This Friday we will officially open the new BHF ‘Donation Station’ comprising a big red clothing bank and book/music bank. These will be located near the West Entrance of LTP in the current ‘recycling centre’. There is easy access and parking (open daily 6am – 8.30pm) for dropping off items whenever it is convenient. These stations will replace the current donation bin in the South Reception although throughout the year we will be participating in specific donation events.

Please feel free to bring in your items and drop them in the bank!
Items urgently needed include: good quality shoes, clothing, accessories, handbags, books, CDs and DVDs. If you have unwanted furniture please come along and talk to the BHF team about arranging a home collection.

Meet Hearty and Wear Red…
Come and meet ‘Hearty’ and the BHF team on Friday in the LTP restaurant, where they will be giving out information and answering questions about their ground breaking work, events and volunteering opportunities.

There will be donation tins and games available in the restaurant; and a ‘healthy’ red special on the lunchtime menu – tandoori chicken salad with a mint/yoghurt dressing.

Healthy Hearts Diary Date
Following the launch, there will be a couple of FREE ‘Healthy Heart’ talks taking place in the LTP auditorium on Thursday 15th March at 12.30 and 1.30 – lasting around 20-30mins. These are open to anyone and everyone on site – put it in your diary!
